Now that that's clear: I want to share a story.

Picture me, 20 years old.

Cursor blinking over a submit button, staring at the application for a $20,000 funded fellowship...

My hands were sweating.

Some old, scared part of me kept whispering: who do you think you are?

I grew up watching every dollar stretch further than it should have. First-gen kid, raised to believe money was something you protected, never something you risked.

So my brain wrote a rule for me: grab what's guaranteed. Don't ask for more than what's already yours. Don't reach.

Rewiring that rule took real work. Therapy, journaling, a lot of uncomfortable conversations with myself about what I actually believed I deserved.

Even with all that work, applying for that $20,000 trip felt like betting against myself. I hit submit anyway.

Then I spent six weeks refreshing my email like it owed me money.

The email came on a random Tuesday: I won it! ๐Ÿ’ธ

I read the subject line three times before I believed it, standing in my kitchen, phone shaking a little in my hand.

The true prize was proof I could bet on myself scared and still win.

After that, I couldn't stop. I started winning Paid Travel Opportunities, one after another.

Then I quit my job. I became a full-time travel creator. Every bigger leap I've taken since traces back to that one decision in my kitchen.

That first yes took me around the world. It also took me somewhere better, a life where I trust myself enough to take the leap.

So if some scared, stretched-thin part of you is nudging you toward the safe, small opportunity this week instead of the bigger one, I see you. I was her.

Apply for the big one anyway. The fully-funded trip is the free one. Staying small was always the risk.

Make sure to read to the bottom to see how Frances, 24, did the same thing and saw the world because of it.

This week, we found 15 new ways you could be paid to travel.

Fellowships, scholarships, remote roles, sweepstakes, and other funded programs. All vetted, all legit, all waiting for someone like you to apply. Ordered by deadline, closest first.

๐Ÿ† Seeker of the Week: Frances, 24

I consider myself to be a frequent and experienced traveler. When I saw the chance to visit country #36 on SeekPTO's Instagram for free via a 1000-word essay competition, I was skeptical, but thought, why not?

A few months later I received an email from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the U.S. letting me know... I was selected!

At the time, I was actually working for a competitive international scholarship program, but I never felt like I personally could ever win! I am so happy that I took a chance and entered this competition!
